The sixth annual HFMWeek European Performance Awards celebrated the best hedge fund strategies, on Wednesday the 28th of March 2012 at the exclusive Hurlingham Club in London. A number of senior industry representatives gathered by HFW Week awarded the Capricorn FXG10 USD Fund as 'Best Newcomer - CTA' for 2012.
Against the backdrop of difficult market conditions and growing investor sophistication, alternative investment managers are fighting to stand out from the crowd. And with new launches every day hedge fund numbers are approaching the 10,000 milestone raising the bar and the competition for asset growth and performance even higher. The HFM Awards recognised those hedge funds and funds of hedge funds that outperformed their peers through the volatility of the last year. Judging for the winners and finalists of each category was based on annual performance figures, however other statistics including volatility, risk management and track record were also taken into account. Presented by Effie Datson the Product Head at dbSelect Platform, Mike Rasmussen the Capricorn COO accepted the award in the category for Best Newcomer in CTA Funds.
